Ranger Distress Inks & Distress Oxides

These are some of my favorite inks for mixed media. I use them for backgrounds in drawings and paintings, collage sheets, stencils, washes, splatters, and occasionally even for their intended purpose of stamping. Imagine that.

Both reactivate with water, which is something to keep in mind when layering. But that’s also part of the fun. You can add water and move the color around, soften it, create texture, or get some really interesting effects, especially with the Distress Oxides.

I use both the ink pads and the bottled inks, and they’ve earned a permanent spot on my supply list.
